I updated to MIDI 3.0. So far, it works great. With my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1), I am connected to an iRig MIDI Interface. The interface is connected to my ancient Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 as an external MIDI sound generator. MIDI songs songs can be stored on my iPhone through iTunes Shared found in the APP tab. The app could use more viewing capabilities, but I plan to use this app at my next one-man-band gig.

I must admit, it is a pretty good program for $7 and I could see using it live if the onboard synth for the midi tracks was better. This is not going to sound like a Sound Canvas or anything even close to pro quality. The drum sounds are particularly weak. Too bad the author cant punch a Virtual Sound Canvas engine in there (or maybe he could). I have been performing with midi tracks for many years using the SC 55 and then the VSC on a netbook - sounds great and this doesnt compete. The other really annoying thing is the reverb implimentation - seems to be just what the global setting is and the default boot is with the global reverb on - reverb on drums whether you like it or not.

Plays the whole song and didnt break the bank purchasing it. Thank you!!!! What I would like to see added would be notes on the staff. Yeah, thats a lot, but as it is, really sounds great. I also found if I email the song to myself I can just "open with" midi 3.0 and there it is in "my files". Blows Sweet (stinkin) Midi slam outa tha water!!!

I have recommended this app to friends and family members who wish to play music I have written. Most often, the track they wish to play contains vocal lines they need to memorize. They typically find the app impossible to figure out at first, but once they do figure it out, they love it. So its a mixed bag of strong pluses and minuses. Most of the difficulties are due to careless programming. For example scores start at measure one, but the indicator in the app starts at measure zero. The songs display doesnt let you jump to a position in the final 15% of a song, because that space is occupied by icons that do something else. And all functionality disappears in landscape mode. And there is no fast backward or fast forward capability as you would find on any CD player, or iTunes itself. On the positive side, tech support responded to my queries within minutes. They provided workarounds, not easy solutions.

Great app. Like the sound quality. Emailed the developer to add a Dropbox feature as wav files are large to email. The developer responded very quickly and is looking into the my feature request. Nice app for the money. Now I hope for the dropbox feature or export to iTunes feature.

Just updated and bought upgraded key board sounds. I hope it gets fixed soon! It does work on IPad.

A few suggestions. Gave you five stars for this wonderful program. BUT, it needs more fx, the reverb is cheezy. I actually upgraded to high quality module and some of the sounds are a little bit lacking IMHO for a GM Wavetable. Great concept here just needs a little refinement. Still 5 stars. Cant wait to see whats next in this program.

Great app... I use for live performances on my iPad and it works great! However, I updated to IOS 6.0 and lost the ability to email my tracks. I hope this will be fixed soon!!

I have just purchased the premium sounds,and they dont work. The message keeps telling me to restart the app. Can I get them to work? If not please refund my money. Thank you

Ive been using this for my gigs and love the premium sounds. They sound great thru my PA system with punchy bass. BTW, you have the premium sounds activated if the button is green. The sounds can be subtle on certain songs though. I especially like how I can use the display feature to create my own lyrics - very helpful for my band mates. Thanks for this great app!

This app has some very good features and is well thought out....The way it displays the lyrics in a song is awesome.......I had only one issue with the app.......I use an external midi playback module and this program seems to have a bug when assigning instrumentation other than the basic GM protocol...... My module can access many more sounds other than the GM but when a song is play where I use a non GM instrument assignment it will just default to a GM instrument instead and ignores any LSB or MSB bank select controllers.......If you use an external module and it utilizes just basic GM youll have no issues and will love this app.......

I have used this off an on for two years or so... From the first buggy version. This one has better features but is flawed more so than the first in that it does not import via "open in" well. It fails to import files on the fly or at best and seldom, takes 10 minutes before the file pops in. FIX THIS PLEASE. It would be easy for me to delete this app when a viable alternative comes. Fix this problem. Kenneth

I love this app. It plays the midi files flawlessly and has a straightforward importing system. However, there appears to be a bug that prevents me from playing songs with the premium sounds module. Upon selecting it in the menu and then restarting the app accordingly, the app immediately crashes when I try to play a song. If i go back to the regular sounds it plays just fine.

I have emailed and asked questions on the Facebook page with no response. If you get this app buyer beware, you are on your own. ;(

I love this app. Downloaded it yesterday and I have almost all of our bands song loaded. No problems playing any of our songs. I love the ability to adjust the instruments on the fly and mute tracks. I have been looking for an app like this for awhile now and very happy I found this one. The premium sound is close or better than the MM6 I am using now for backup. I am going to have the rest of the band members get this so they can practice at home. Great addition to my studio. Looking forward to using it at our next gig. I give it 4 stars because there is a glitch when I try to create a new playlist. When this is fixed I would give it a 5.

I have used this program for a couple of years. I play at restaurants and depend on a stable midi player. The last version was good. This one embarrassed me. It skips time, changed the mix, and generally sounded amateurish. I am forced to go back to my laptop and have to rebuild my playlist on it. Dont waste your time unless it gets fixed. wish I had never update the program, this is a real headache.

Still the best MidiPlayer ever! Version 4 still has a few quirks like version 3, but I found easy workarounds for it. Other than that.....The new version is great! Finally MidiPlayer has background playing and Bluetooth capability. From my previous review.......The sound on this is great!I use this app mainly to play piano music and it has great piano sound. The equalizer feature is great, much better than Sweet Midi, and cheaper, too. Bottom line, even with the quirks, this app is the best.

I am very pleased with the new Midi Players sounds. However, it still has problem with crashing and ending the songs to abrupt. I use this player to play my midi files on the gig but worry about the crashing issue. I never know when it is going to stop working at which time I have to reboot my tablet which interferes with the flow of my performance. Wish they could add a re-start or reboot tab for this issue.

Thanks for fixing the app so it plays on older iPads as well.

This up-date to midi 3 is a disaster, music stutters, Bluetooth very inconsistent, lyric display, which all other apps seem to have no prob with, is terrible - what happened? Lets get the app right before you start selling additional features, No the 4.1 update updated nothing - do you see "display lyrics" no you dont, does the Bluetooth work- no You must be using a magic ipad
